In the very beginning, I think it shows that just being friendly or talking to someone can make someone's day. I believe this to be true. Being friendly doesn't hurt. Also in the end where the community comes together to help build the center together is very nice and all, but I haven't really seen anything like that come true at least before my eyes.

Without a change within each person, real change cannot be initiated with genuineness. Though the quote used in the film was attributed to Ghandi, there is nothing we can truly do to change ourselves without the power of God in our lives. What a hoot! You missed the boat when you could have really gotten the audience. The part where the Vet was attacked by the skinheads is where you should have had metals for valor etc falling out with the Bible of the meager possessions from the torn and tattered bag.
