GenerationNation/Kids Voting

GenerationNation educates and engages K-12 students to lead in their schools, communities and nation. Students learn about government, civic participation and leadership to do support academic achievement, build civic literacy and develop as effective citizens and leaders. Programs include K-12 civic education, Youth Voice, Youth Civics and the Kids Voting election.

Youth Voice Leadership Alliance

Mecklenburg Youth Voice (MYV) is a youth-driven and youth-led initiative of GenerationNation. High school students create and foster opportunities for youth voice in policies, issues and decisions that impact youth. Students convene to raise and discuss issues, attend government meetings, follow issues in the media and have conversations with public officials. MYV is open to all high school students. Youth Civics

Students visit and learn about city council, county commission and school board meetings, plus the Charlotte Observer, Board of Elections and courthouse. This program is perfect for teens with an interest in government, public service or law or who are in civics class.
