Dr. Cheryl Hicks, associate professor of history at UNC Charlotte, brings forward the voices of black working-class women in early 20th-century New York. In her book, Talk With You Like a Woman, and in her talk, she explores the impact of racism and sexism on these women and their families. Doors open: 6:15 p.m.; Talk at 6:30 p.m.; Reception follows.
