"Connecting Families Through Music" is a series of events that are part of the Charlotte Symphony supported after-school music program at Winterfield Elementary School. This events are designed to bring together Winterfield music students, parents, along with the larger school and community population, in a musical environment that builds bridges. Each event has four parts: student performances; performances by professional musicians; a participatory piece in which parents, students, and professionals play together; and a community meal in the school cafeteria.
