Fifth Year of Front Porch Grants Begins Enlarge Fifth Year of Front Porch Grants Begins
Brant Aycock Posted: May 26th, 2009 Brant Aycock

Crossroads Charlotte is proud to announce the fifth year of the Front Porch Grants program. This program takes its name from the way in which personal gathering places, such as front porches, have historically allowed strangers to become neighbors and neighbors to become friends. Grants of up to $2500 will be awarded to support small-scale gatherings that build social capital and make connections between people.

In order to apply for a Front Porch Grant, applicants must read the Crossroads Charlotte stories and view “Crossroads Charlotte: the Movie”. The Front Porch Grants Program is open to neighborhood associations, social clubs, school groups and other civic organizations. Applications are due by noon on Friday June 19, 2009 and applicants will be notified in Late September 2009 of any grant awards. All Front Porch Grant projects must start no earlier than Mid-October 2009 and end by Mid-April 2010.

Applicants needing assistance will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by grant reviewers on May 27, 2009 from 5:30pm-7:30pm or on June 2, 2009 from 11:30am-1pm.
